Make melt-in-your-mouth crockpot steak bites effortlessly in your slow cooker. This recipe delivers tender, juicy beef packed with garlic butter flavor, perfect for a simple weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (for slurry)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed sirloin steak into the basin of your slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth and soy sauce. Pour this mixture over the steak cubes.
  3. Cook on low for 3 to 4 hours, or on high for 1.5 to 2 hours, until the steak is tender.
  4. About 30 minutes before serving, prepare the garlic butter sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, cooking until fragrant, about 1 minute. Do not let the garlic brown.
  5. Stir the cornstarch slurry into the garlic butter mixture and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Pour the garlic butter sauce over the steak in the slow cooker. Stir gently to coat the steak bites.
  7. Cook for the final 30 minutes on high to allow the sauce to fully coat the meat.
  8. Taste and add salt and pepper as needed before serving hot over mashed potatoes or rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can sear the steak cubes in a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes per side before adding them to the slow cooker.
  • This recipe works well with sirloin or tender cuts of beef.
  • Serve these steak bites with creamy mashed potatoes or egg noodles for a complete family dinner.
