Make this sophisticated Peppermint Espresso Martini for your next gathering. This recipe combines rich espresso, coffee liqueur, and vodka with a cool peppermint finish, perfect for festive entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, cooled
  • 0.75 oz Coffee Liqueur (like Kahlua)
  • 0.5 oz Peppermint Syrup (or Peppermint Schnapps)
  • 0.5 oz Heavy Cream or Half-and-Half (optional, for creaminess)
  • Chocolate syrup, for garnish
  • Crushed candy canes or peppermint candies, for rim
  • 3 Coffee Beans, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the rim: Pour a small amount of chocolate syrup onto a shallow plate. On a second plate, spread the crushed candy canes. Dip the rim of your chilled martini glass first into the chocolate syrup, then into the crushed candy canes. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add the vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint syrup, and heavy cream (if using) into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  3. Shake well: Close the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about 20 to 30 seconds until the mixture is very cold and foamy.
  4. Strain and serve: Double strain the mixture into your prepared martini glass.
  5. Garnish: Float three coffee beans on top of the foam to finish your Peppermint Espresso Martini.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, substitute 0.25 oz of the coffee liqueur with Irish cream liqueur like Baileys.
  • To make a mocktail version, replace the vodka and coffee liqueur with cold brew coffee concentrate and a splash of non-alcoholic coffee syrup, adjusting sweetness as needed.
  • Use high-quality, freshly pulled espresso for the best foam and flavor in your holiday cocktail.
